A Winter Evening

An old country road
Pine trees are laced in white snow
And wind is blowing

A little cottage
Sits on a cobblestone path
Next to a great wood

With frost-kissed windows
Warm lights come from within it
Welcoming cold nights

Holding his lantern
A snowman greets passers-by
In their sleighs and bells

Rosy cheeks and nose
Little boy comes home to rest
After a long day.

Cocoa warms the lips
Fireside chatting begins;
A perfect evening

Sunlight

Sunlight paints oak trees
With peals of color and life
A sigh escapes me.
